Daybreak
Cardamom reaches the nose before the first sip. Orange and lemongrass keep the Cusco green tea bright. Use 10g and water just off the boil; six to seven minutes brings out the spice without turning the tea bitter.
The blend
Orange, Cusco green tea, Villa Rica cardamom, lemongrass, calendula. Those five plants are the whole recipe.
The cardamom is floral and warm against the citrus, and the cup pours light gold with a gentle sweetness.
How to brew
10g per mug (about 300ml) · 6–7 minutes · Hot, not boiling
Boil fresh water, let the kettle rest two to three minutes, then pour over the leaves. Too-hot water is what turns green tea bitter. Strain. A second steep is possible — lighter, softer.
When to drink it
Drink it in the morning. It is green tea, so there is caffeine in it, less than a cup of coffee. The pouch makes about 20 cups. Orange and cardamom make it bright; the green tea gives it backbone.
The tradition
Peru grows tea. The green tea in Daybreak comes from the Cusco region; the cardamom is from Villa Rica. Both are named for where they grow.

Ingredients & origin
Blended in Peru.
Orange, Cusco green tea, Villa Rica cardamom, lemongrass, calendula.
Naturally caffeinated · ~20 cups per pouch.
How to brew
Loose botanicals are forgiving. Use a heaping spoon per cup and give it the full time. For a bolder cup, add more leaf, not more minutes.
Tea bags brew fast because they are filled with fine dust. Whole leaves and roots need more time to open. The longer steep is where the flavor is.
